Human in the Loop
The design rule that a person reviews and approves AI output before it counts — non-negotiable for reports, quotes, and quality documents.
Human in the loop means the AI drafts and a person decides. The technician approves the service report. The estimator owns the quote. The quality engineer signs the inspection document. AI removes the typing, not the accountability.
This is a design rule, not a preference, for two reasons. First, AI output is fallible and confident at the same time — review is the backstop. Second, responsibility must stay with someone who can be asked why: "the model said so" is not an answer a customer, auditor, or court accepts.
The corollary: processes where review would be skipped under time pressure are not good early AI candidates, no matter how impressive the demo.
Where it shows up in this proposal: every generative use case on the AI Opportunities and AI by Department sheets names its human approver.
